He has a great plan for us.

We like to do it our way than the Lord’s
way.

Unexpected love.
Do what’s unexpected of you.

Big Message: Get a Jesus Encounter.

Power of perspective.

If you change your perspective, you change
your entire life.

Perspective is like the steering wheel of
life.

Perspective: You will be liberated or
limited.

Paul and Silas

Acts 16:25-28

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying
and singing hymns to God, and the other
prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly
there was such a violent earthquake that the
foundations of the prison were shaken. At
once all the prison doors flew open, and
everyone’s chains came loose. The jailer
woke up, and when he saw the prison doors
open, he drew his sword and was about to
kill himself because he thought the
prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted,
“Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

2 Ways To Change Perspective

1. Praise

Don’t let your problems prevent you from
praising God

Don’t let it stop you from thanking God.

Your praise changes your perspective.

Even if Paul and Silas were in prison, it
did not mean that they are imprisoned.
If you are stressed, it does not mean that
you can’t be blessed.

When you praise God, you become a better
person.

It does not change your situation, it
changes your position.

Start praising God.

You start seeing things from a higher
perspective.

Praise gives you the ability to have joy
amidst your difficulties.

2. Purpose

To them, they are not in prison, but they
are on a mission.

If you are trapped in a dead end, that is
not a prison, that is a mission.

This is temporary. God has a purpose why I
am in this place, until I accomplish this
mission.

Stand up for Jesus.

Acts 8:1

On that day a great persecution broke out
against the church in Jerusalem, and all
except the apostles were scattered
throughout Judea and Samaria.

God’s plans are better in your life.

Acts 8:3

But Saul began to destroy the church. Going
from house to house, he dragged off both men
and women and put them in prison.

Acts 9:1-2

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out
murderous threats against the Lord’s
disciples. He went to the high priest and
asked him for letters to the synagogues in
Damascus, so that if he found any there who
belonged to the Way, whether men or women,
he might take them as prisoners to
Jerusalem.

Conversion happened.

Acts 9:3-6

As he neared Damascus on his journey,
suddenly a light from heaven flashed around
him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice
say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you
persecute me?”

“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he
replied. “Now get up and go into the city,
and you will be told what you must do.”

Steps of Conversion

1. You meet God. God shows up.

The purpose of the Feast is to let you meet
God.

Conversion is meeting God.

Allow God to change you.

Pure mercy

2. Like Saul, you have to fall down.

Humility

Humus – soil.

Admit, I’m wrong, and God is absolutely right.

Acts 9:9

For three days he was blind, and did not eat
or drink anything.

Saul became blind.

Reality of his soul, he was blind.

God gave him a new set of eyes.

3. You follow God.

God wants to meet you.

Are you ready to obey?

Are you ready to follow what I want you to do?

If you met Jesus, you’ll stick around
no matter how hard and difficult.

Before you love Him, allow Him to love you
first.

We need to dress for the occasion.
You go to work, dress to work.
Go to vacation, dress to vacation.

Change your environment

Curate – to organize a collection of items.

Curate your kingdom to get rid of bad habits.

1. Curate the people in your life – choose the people to hang out
Not everyone who is good to you is not good for you.
Time is a limited resource.
Choose people who will nourish you.
Guard your heart for it is the wellspring of your life.

Love others, but don’t allow everyone to have access to your inner life.
Choose the right people

2. Curate your perspectives – Change your perspective,
Change what you watch, change what your listening to to.
Is it improving you? Is it inspiring you?

Control the content of what you consume

Psalm 101:3

I will not look with approval
on anything that is vile.

I hate what faithless people do;
I will have no part in it.

The contents of what you consume will create

the character that you will assume

Start treating your life as if it’s a kingdom.
Learn how to guard it well. Don’t just let anybody or anything in.
Your faith is important.

When you change your inside, you change your outside

1 Kings 4:29-32
God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight,
and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East,
and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
He was wiser than anyone else, including Ethan the Ezrahite—wiser than Heman,
Kalkol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame
spread to all the surrounding nations.
He spoke three thousand proverbs
and his songs numbered a thousand and five.

A person’s strength does not protect him from his weakness.

Your 1% weakness will cause your downfall

1 Kings 11:1-2
King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women
besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites.
They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites,
“You must not intermarry with them,
because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.”
Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.

1 Kings 11:3
He had seven hundred wives of royal birth
and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray.

4 Mistakes of King Solomon

1. King Solomon surrounded himself with idol worshipers
Yes, we need to love the sinners, but we need to hang out also more often with good persons
– balance

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.

Do not be arrogant and say you do not need anyone
You do need someone to be beside you
Set up your growth by hanging out with growing people

2. He stopped meditating the word

Deuteronomy 17:18-20
When he takes the throne of his kingdom,
he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law,
taken from that of the Levitical priests.
It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life
so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God
and follow carefully all the words of this law
and these decrees
and not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites
and turn from the law to the right or to the left.
Then he and his descendants will reign
a long time over his kingdom in Israel.

Prioritize God in your life
Get into the word everyday

3. He followed the wrong example

Deuteronomy 17:17
He must not take many wives,
or his heart will be led astray.
He must not accumulate
large amounts of silver and gold.

2 Samuel 5:13
After he left Hebron, David took more concubines
and wives in Jerusalem,
and more sons and daughters were born to him.

Have your parents sinned against God?
Have your grand-parents sinned against God?
You can look at that bad example and follow.
Or you can say I will not follow.
You can stop the cycle
The curse stops with you

4. Mistake of accumulating large large amounts of silver and gold.

Deuteronomy 17:17
He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray.
He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.

1 Kings 10:14
The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents,

Blessings can become curses
When you become arrogant
Change your setup that you can go closer to Jesus.
Tell Him help me to rule your kingdom
so that everything in this kingdom kneels before Jesus.

Some of the great men do fall

Do not be arrogant to think that you will not fall.
Cry out to God. Jesus, I need you in my life.

Big Message:
You are more valuable than you think you are.

Success does not teach you much, but failure teaches you
the most important life lesson.

You can share your failure
so that others can learn from it.

David committed 2 major sins:
1. Adultery
2. Murder

Reason why David sinned
1. He was not in the battle
2. He was alone

2 Samuel 11:1-3
In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war,
David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole
Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and
besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.
One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on
the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman
bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent
someone to find out about her.

You may read the whole of 2 Samuel Chapter 11 here to
know the whole story.

4 Lessons we can learn

1st Lesson: Always be in battle
You cannot relax because evil never relaxes

2nd Lesson: Never leave your squad
In the army, a squad is approximately 9 people.
Your squad are the people in your life
– who sticks with you,
– who have the same spiritual goals as you have
– we recommend that you join a light group
here at the feast, these are small groups
who share their life experiences, pray together,
bond together

3rd Lesson: Defeat the enemy when it’s still small.
Big sins usually starts small.
If you lose a battle, you can still recover.

4th Lesson: Never cover your defeat

2 Samuel 11:14-15
In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it
with Uriah. In it he wrote, “Put Uriah out in front
where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him
so he will be struck down and die.”

When you cover up the sin,the sin only gets bigger and
stronger.

God cannot heal what you continue to conceal.

Ephesians 5:13
But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—
and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.

Matthew 5:27-28
You have heard that it was said to those of old,
‘You shall not commit adultery.’
But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman
to lust for her has already committed adultery
with her in his heart.

It all starts with just a thought.
While it is still small desire, you crush your desire.

What is purity?

Purity is valuing who you are.
It is understanding that God loves you.
And you are precious.

Purity is a gift.

You are still diamond even if you are covered with mud.

7 Parallels between Isaac and Jesus

1. Both were loved by their fathers and both were sacrificed by their father
2. Both were only sons
3. Isaac had a sibling – Ishmael
Jesus has siblings – we are His brothers and sisters
4. Both carry wood up to the mountain
5. Both were sacrificed on the same geographical location-the hills of Moriah
6. Both were tied up
7. Both were resurrected, though in a different way

For God so loved.
This is why we are here.

There is this illogical God who is madly in love with you.
You may lose everything, but you will never lose God’s love for you.
Receive this love today.

I am perfectly, totally, completely loved.

And today, because of your love for me, I chose to serve, and love and
follow you, all the days of my life, in Jesus name.

The only way to fight the devil is to follow Jesus
It is not what the devil is doing But what God is doing

Feed your faith so much that your fear will go away.
It will starve your fear

Stop talking to the devil.
