Homily from Fr. Bob Mcconaghy

God does not want to settle with our plans.

He has a great plan for us.

We like to do it our way than the Lord’s
way.

Unexpected love.
Do what’s unexpected of you.

Speaker: Bro Audee Villaraza

Your new day is coming.

Big Message: Get a Jesus Encounter.

Power of perspective.

If you change your perspective, you change
your entire life.

Perspective is like the steering wheel of
life.

Perspective: You will be liberated or
limited.

Paul and Silas

Acts 16:25-28

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying
and singing hymns to God, and the other
prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly
there was such a violent earthquake that the
foundations of the prison were shaken. At
once all the prison doors flew open, and
everyone’s chains came loose. The jailer
woke up, and when he saw the prison doors
open, he drew his sword and was about to
kill himself because he thought the
prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted,
“Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

2 Ways To Change Perspective

1. Praise

Don’t let your problems prevent you from
praising God

Don’t let it stop you from thanking God.

Your praise changes your perspective.

Even if Paul and Silas were in prison, it
did not mean that they are imprisoned.
If you are stressed, it does not mean that
you can’t be blessed.

When you praise God, you become a better
person.

It does not change your situation, it
changes your position.

Start praising God.

You start seeing things from a higher
perspective.

Praise gives you the ability to have joy
amidst your difficulties.

2. Purpose

To them, they are not in prison, but they
are on a mission.

If you are trapped in a dead end, that is
not a prison, that is a mission.

This is temporary. God has a purpose why I
am in this place, until I accomplish this
mission.

Stand up for Jesus.

Speaker: Bro Bo Sanchez

Acts 8:1

On that day a great persecution broke out
against the church in Jerusalem, and all
except the apostles were scattered
throughout Judea and Samaria.

God’s plans are better in your life.

Acts 8:3

But Saul began to destroy the church. Going
from house to house, he dragged off both men
and women and put them in prison.

Acts 9:1-2

Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out
murderous threats against the Lord’s
disciples. He went to the high priest and
asked him for letters to the synagogues in
Damascus, so that if he found any there who
belonged to the Way, whether men or women,
he might take them as prisoners to
Jerusalem.

Conversion happened.

Acts 9:3-6

As he neared Damascus on his journey,
suddenly a light from heaven flashed around
him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice
say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you
persecute me?”

“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he
replied. “Now get up and go into the city,
and you will be told what you must do.”

Steps of Conversion

1. You meet God. God shows up.

The purpose of the Feast is to let you meet
God.

Conversion is meeting God.

Allow God to change you.

Pure mercy

2. Like Saul, you have to fall down.

Humility

Humus – soil.

Admit, I’m wrong, and God is absolutely right.

Acts 9:9

For three days he was blind, and did not eat
or drink anything.

Saul became blind.

Reality of his soul, he was blind.

God gave him a new set of eyes.

3. You follow God.

God wants to meet you.

Are you ready to obey?

Are you ready to follow what I want you to do?

If you met Jesus, you’ll stick around
no matter how hard and difficult.

Before you love Him, allow Him to love you
first.
